Objectives: Differentiate the Intended, implemented, achieved, and tested curriculum.

I realized that as a teacher, here are some contributions to each component of the curriculum.

For the intended curriculum, teachers plan lessons that aim to achieve the learning competencies set in the curriculum guide for each grade level and quarter.

For implemented curriculum, we provide a set of activities that give opportunities for learners to develop learning competency and facilitate learning based on the intended curriculum. Here, teachers consider /her teaching styles and what approaches are applied as well as the learning styles of the learners.

While in a tested curriculum, teachers evaluate to find out whether the teacher has succeeded in facilitating learning. Provide assessment in the process of teaching and at the end of every lesson.

And lastly, in attained curriculum, in the case where the intended learning outcomes are not met, we provide interventions and remedial classes. We can also revise our lesson plans and activities to meet the needs of students who have not achieved the intended learning outcome. It is in this part that teachers do reflection to revisit /her lesson plan, activities, and teaching strategies whether effective or not.

ACTRC has reviewed this different curriculum - the intended, implemented, achived, and tested curriculum with different conclusions and recommendations.

From the initial results, it can be gleaned that in the basic education curriculum there is a match between the intended, implemented, and achieved curriculum. Perhaps at this point in time action, research and program evaluation should be done to provide empirical evidence to determine the value and worth of the curriculum.

To sum it up the intended curriculum refers to the planned objectives goals and purposes set at the beginning while the implemented curriculum refers to the various activities conducted for the purpose of accomplishing the objectives. Finally, the achieved curriculum is the learning outcomes as measured by the learning performance. These two types of curricula should be evaluated in order to find out if they match well with one another to accomplish the desired outputs. so before I end, I want to reflect on this question in writing my own lesson plan, would I consider matching the intended, implemented and achieved curriculum and eventually assess it as tested curriculum?

Thanks to this session, I learned new ideas and concepts in the field curriculum and prepare for the better and brighter future.
