This is our assigned session day. Together with me were co-facilitators were Teachers J-Lorenzo Fabe and Armin Collantes. This is the second part of Theoretical and Content Consideration for Curriculum Change with main objectives "Identify and describe the participants in curriculum development; and Assess the emerging issues surrounding the learner, the teacher, the community, and the society that have considerable impact on curricular decisions in Science and Mathematics."

We discussed who are the participants in curriculum development because this is crucial in curricular decisions as well as issues and problems that surround them. It was transcribed from our discussion that The primary goal of any curriculum and the curriculum development process is the success of students. Students’ achievement and overall learning don’t only limit to academic awards but a holistic one that focuses more on the learning experiences the student can get. Implementation of Curriculum Development we also believe that it should be a process step-by-step. Upon implementing it, the author's goal must be clear, and precise on what to implement just like how a teacher conducts their activity. The pursuit of knowledge and its advancement needs the use of intellectual faculties and abilities, which I will occasionally refer to as "intellectual activities." This requires diverse, and prevalent scientific research to achieve the goal of developing a curriculum.

After the session, I realized that
The strategy that worked well is the group activity given asynchronously because it helped the learners to collaborate with each other and share their ideas. Furthermore, it gives us an idea on what the students know about the topic that we’re going to discuss. The content of the report and the flow during the presentation are the major problems we encountered. Considering our time to meet are also one of the challenges since we have difficulty in having a set time to meet. With the help of our facilitator Sir Sam, we came up with the flow of our discussion. To reinforce our idea on how to do our report or task we decided on a time where we could discuss among the group for three heads are better than one. Then, even when each of us is busy  with our work and other school tasks we are given time even when it's just a limited time to schedule a google meet. We also discussed some concerns related to our reporting and topic through chat.

No curriculum will be perfect, a finished product cast in stone, or free from criticism, but to be effective it must be accepted by teachers and must be deemed educationally valid by parents and the community at large (“Guide to curriculum development,” 2006). Problems and conflict do happen, but “problems are our friends” (Glickman, Gordon & Ross-Gordon, 2013, p. 293).
